The world's first GW-level tandem module production base went into operation in Kunshan
On June 24th today, the GW-level perovskite industrial base of GCL Optoelectronics was put into operation in Kunshan, which is also the world's first GW-level tandem module production base. Liu Xiaotao, the Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, and Zhu Gongshan, the Chairman of the GCL Group, attended the commissioning ceremony.
As the third-generation photovoltaic technology, perovskite is reshaping the new industrial coordinates with the synchronous resonance of low price, low carbon and high efficiency by virtue of its huge disruptive advantages, and it is an important direction for the construction of Suzhou's "1030" industrial system. The total investment of the GW-level perovskite industrial base project of GCL Optoelectronics is 5 billion yuan, with a target production capacity of 2GW, and a 1GW perovskite commercial module production line has been initially arranged. With the mass production of the GW-level production line and the optimization of the industrial chain, the advantages of cost, efficiency and stability of GCL perovskite tandem modules will be further unleashed. In the future, the project base will serve as the global R&D headquarters, the future listed entity and the global group headquarters of GCL Optoelectronics, actively introduce upstream and downstream enterprises, cultivate and form a perovskite industrial ecosystem, and strive to achieve the goal of a hundred-billion-yuan output value.
When delivering a speech, Zhu Gongshan said that taking the commissioning of the project as an opportunity and driven by the "GW-level mass production + scenario-based demonstration" as a dual-wheel drive, they will anchor the roadmap of "gradually increasing production capacity - large-scale manufacturing - a large outbreak of tandem production capacity", accelerate the application process of perovskite modules, promote Suzhou to become the "technology source + application demonstration area" of perovskite in the world, help the global energy transformation and unlock the green and low-carbon future.
On that day, the AI High-throughput Joint R&D Center jointly established by GCL Optoelectronics, Suzhou Laboratory and Soochow University was inaugurated. Based on the AI high-throughput system, it will integrate resources in the field of perovskite scientific research, deeply cultivate multiple fields such as perovskite formulas, processes, applications, achievement transformation and industrialization around the world, and promote technological breakthroughs.
